Valve has made changes to Steam to help developers better evaluate the effects of discounts on sales

Valve has revised its revenue reporting tool on Steam, streamlining the process for developers to assess the financial effect of each discount they've implemented.
Though this information mirrors what's available in Steamworks' sales and activation reports, it now breaks down data according to the timeline of discounts run from November 2021 to the present day.
Valve emphasized that developers and publishers can now leverage this data when planning future discount strategies.
The discount history page offers a table spanning four columns representing previous discounts:
- "#" - Details the frequency of a particular percentage discount for the specific USD base price
- "Revenue" - The total gross global revenue the package earned during the discount period, displayed in USD
- "$ per day" - Revenue-per-day calculation to facilitate better analysis of discount impact versus duration
- "Units" - Total units sold over the discount period
You can also view the revenue and traffic statistics for the period each discount took place, with markers for any price alterations.
Valve noted there might be discrepancies between this revenue data and what's found in the sales & activations report, as the latter aggregates total revenue from all sales on a specific date, irrespective of the discount factor.
Access to this information requires permissions for 'Manage Pricing and Discounts' and 'View Financial Info' for the relevant games. More details can be found on Steam's website.
It was also reported recently that Valve appears to have stopped allowing games with "mature themes" to launch in early access.
