Borderlands 4 set a series record for online players in Steam, but the reviews are "mixed"
On the evening of September 11th, the release of Borderlands 4 took place. According to SteamDB, shortly after its launch, the looter-shooter managed to attract 207,479 concurrent players on Steam, marking the best result in the series.

Additionally, Borderlands 4 became the most popular game on Steam published by 2K Games. Previously, this title belonged to Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, with a peak of 162,657 players, which has now moved to second place. Completing the top three is XCOM 2, with a maximum of 133,022 players.

As for the rating of Borderlands 4 on Steam, at the time of writing, it stands at a "mixed" 59%. Most of the criticism is due to poor game optimization, but some players are also dissatisfied with the weak storyline and dull side quests. However, the game is praised for its improved gameplay, lively battle dynamics, pleasant visual elements, and a balance of humor and serious narrative.
