On September 9, 2025, Microsoft shared in an Xbox Wire post that the Xbox Cloud Gaming (beta) will be accessible in vehicles featuring LG’s webOS Automotive Content Platform (ACP).
To utilize Xbox Cloud Gaming streaming, users will need an automotive data plan, internet access, and an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription. A Bluetooth controller is also required for gameplay.
Chris Lee, Xbox's vice president of marketing, emphasized in the announcement that "all services operate in compliance with driving safety regulations."
The Xbox streaming feature is thus limited to backseat passengers, evidenced by a trailer showcasing screens mounted on the rear of the front seats without any display in the front of the vehicle.
Lee remarked, "Whether you’re jumping back into an old favorite or discovering something completely new, Xbox Cloud Gaming and LG Electronics transforms your vehicle’s infotainment system into more than just music and movies – it becomes a full entertainment hub," in the post.
He further added, "Our collaboration with LG is the latest example of Xbox reaching new horizons, following partnerships that extend Xbox Cloud Gaming to mobile devices, PCs, and TVs."
He stated, "By adding vehicles to the mix, we’re giving players more choice than ever in how they enjoy their games."
LG has announced that its ACP will drive in-car streaming in new European Kia models, including the upcoming Kia EV4, Kia EV5, and the Kia New Sportage.
The Kia EV3, displayed at the IAA Mobility show in Munich, Germany, on September 8, 2025, was the first model to demonstrate the Xbox Cloud Gaming capability.
The Chosun Daily (via VGC) reported that Eunseok Hyun, vice president and head of LG Electronics’ vehicle solution division, announced at a conference on September 9, 2025, LG’s goal to equip "20 million vehicles cumulatively by 2030" with their ACP, aiming to lead in the SDV market.
