Hollow Knight: Silksong topped the Steam chart, while the original Hollow Knight made it into the top 15
The leader in the Steam top-grossing games chart for the week of September 2 to September 9 was unquestionably Hollow Knight: Silksong. It secured the number one spot both in the top for paid games only and in the overall ranking.

Previously, analysts at Alinea Analytics calculated that from September 4 to 6 alone, Hollow Knight: Silksong generated over $50 million in Steam revenue, making the game's high positions unsurprising. Note that both the original Hollow Knight and the sequel's soundtrack also made it to the chart, ranking 13th and 26th, respectively.
With the buzz surrounding Hollow Knight: Silksong, Counter-Strike 2 dropped to the second position in the overall ranking.
The third spot on the chart went to pre-orders for Borderlands 4. Remember, the game's release is already scheduled for this week — September 12.
Thanks to discounts, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and Baldur’s Gate 3 returned to the top ten. Meanwhile, The International 2025 tournament helped Dota 2 climb to the 15th position.
Among new entries in the chart, besides Hollow Knight: Silksong, were: NBA 2K26 (sixth place), Cronos: The New Dawn (16th place), Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion (23rd place), and Hell is Us (34th place).
