Microsoft suggests a "more affordable" edition of Xbox Cloud Gaming

Microsoft is contemplating a lower-cost iteration of its Xbox Cloud Gaming service. During the Official Xbox Podcast, as reported by The Verge, Jason Ronald, Xbox's vice president of gaming devices and ecosystem, indicated the company's aim to make this service more accessible.

Ronald mentioned, "A significant number of gamers utilize Game Pass Ultimate for cloud access, whether it's their main method of play or a supplementary way while traveling." He emphasized Microsoft's ambition to make the service financially viable and accessible, which might involve expanding to new regions or discovering alternative ways to engage with the Xbox cloud.

Additionally, Ronald discussed the strategic multi-year agreement between Xbox and AMD announced last month. This partnership will focus on advancing next-generation consoles, handhelds, PCs, and cloud systems.

He commented on their commitment to innovation in hardware and silicon, aiming to exceed the current device generation, as reported by PureXbox. "In collaboration with AMD, we are developing specialized silicon and hardware to facilitate the next era of gaming experience, thus investing in forward-looking rendering technologies."

Ronald further elaborated, "Investments are also going into dedicated silicon to empower the next wave of AI capabilities, which will significantly alter gameplay experiences and offer a platform for developers to create novel gaming opportunities previously unattainable."
