The alternative app marketplace, Skich, is now accessible on Android devices subsequent to its earlier launch on iOS in the European Union.

Currently, the Android platform is inviting developers to join, with interest expressed by over 100 studios. Developers on the platform are offered a 15% share of revenue.

Initially, Skich served as a discoverability tool on iOS after the Digital Markets Act came into effect. Listening to user suggestions, the platform transitioned into a mobile store.

"The challenges in discovering mobile games, especially for smaller teams without large advertising budgets, are apparent to us," stated Sergey Budkovski, CEO and co-founder of Skich Store.

"Our Android launch marks a significant milestone, as it presents a genuine alternative where quality games can succeed based on merit rather than marketing expenses."

This launch occurs after a recent decision by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which upheld the verdict from the 2023 Epic vs Google case, as detailed by The Verge.

The court found Google's Play Store and billing system to be operating as an illegal monopoly.
