The former head of PlayStation Studios responded with a facepalm to Sony's decision to move away from a hardware-oriented business model

Sudden announcement. Corresponding reaction.

During a conference call with investors, held as part of the quarterly report presentation, Sony Vice President Sadahiko Hayakawa stated:

"We are moving away from a hardware-centric business model in favor of a platform-based one, focusing on community and engagement".

This occurred against the backdrop of the PlayStation 5 reaching 80 million units sold (2 million less than the PlayStation 4 in the same period).

Shawn Layden, who led PlayStation Studios for over nine years — from 2010 to 2019 — reacted to this unambiguously: with a gif of Kratos doing a facepalm.
