Lyrical Media, an independent production company, has introduced a new independent games publisher named Lyrical Games. This initiative is led by Blake Rochkind, who previously held the position of head of business development at Private Division.

The publisher, backed by "substantial private funding," is focused on the "triple-i" sector. It aims to support innovative and high-quality projects that fill the gap between small indie enterprises and major AAA releases.

Alongside Rochkind, Lyrical Games includes a team of experienced professionals such as Roger Kurtz, former production lead at Private Division, and skilled individuals from Devolver Digital, Humble Games, and Microsoft.

Blake Rochkind expressed in a release, "At Lyrical Games, we are convinced that developers are often best suited to handle their own creations. In the current environment, there’s a lot of noise, and not every developer needs a traditional publisher. Our goal with Lyrical Games is to be a publisher that developers desire to collaborate with."

He added that in the current market, it's crucial for developers and publishers to have a shared comprehensive vision from the start, covering both the game and its target audience.

Already, the publisher has secured three titles, including an upcoming game from Blackbird Interactive, the creators of Homeworld 3. Lyrical Games has indicated that updates and announcements for these projects will be released soon.

Rochkind further stated, "In the 'triple-i' sector, we believe our terms are among the most competitive right now. We seek partners who want a significant role in how their game is marketed." He also assured that developers would retain IP ownership, and their collaborations would prioritize transparency and cooperation above all.
