Cooperative games earned over $4 billion on Steam in six months—setting a record

The first half of 2025 was the most profitable period for cooperative mode games on Steam, according to analysts from Alinea Analytics. These projects earned a total of $4.1 billion during this time—an 11% increase compared to the previous year.

The analysts did not name the most successful cooperative games on Steam specifically for the half-year. Instead, they listed the top hits among all new releases (not just cooperative ones) of 2025 as of July 31. However, only one game on the list lacked cooperative support — Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.

Top 5 new releases of 2025 by revenue on Steam:

1. Monster Hunter Wilds — $380.8 million;
2. Schedule I — $137 million;
3. R.E.P.O. — $128.2 million;
4. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II — $109.1 million (no co-op);
5. Split Fiction — $104.5 million.

Top 5 new releases of 2025 by sales on Steam:

1. R.E.P.O. — 16.4 million copies;
2. Schedule I — 9 million copies;
3. Peak — 7 million copies;
4. Monster Hunter Wilds — 6.3 million copies;
5. Elden Ring Nightreign — 2.8 million copies.
