Developers of the PC adaptation of the board game "Potion Brewing" are looking for a publisher
We continue our column, "Developer/Publisher Wanted," where indie teams share about themselves, their projects, and the funds they need. Up next is a post about the game "Potion Craft: Path of the Alchemist." This is an adaptation of a board game about brewing elixirs.
If you are an indie developer ready to talk about your project and are also looking for investments, a publisher, or someone to join your team, be sure to contact us in our Telegram column — https://t.me/overwordly.
The project was introduced by Alexey Sojer, who is responsible for business development and communications.

About the Team
Our studio is called "Oduvan Games." Our core team has been working together since late 2021. We are a team of seven, and we occasionally bring in external specialists for project work. We work in a distributed manner.
Our portfolio: https://oduvangames.com/
Some of our projects are under non-disclosure agreements (NDA) and are not publicly available.
Currently, we are working on two PC projects. The first is the isometric tactics “Frontier: Path of Shadows," which I discussed a few weeks ago. In this article, I will talk about our second project.
About the Game
"Potion Craft: Path of the Alchemist" is a PC adaptation of a board game with the same name.
The original board game "Potion Craft" has been sold for over 20 years, with a total circulation exceeding 300 thousand copies. Over the years, it has undergone multiple updates, both visually and in gameplay. The latest update was released in 2024, and it is on this version that we are basing the digital adaptation.
We position our project for the broad audience as follows:
"In the game, you will become a talented alchemist summoned by the spirit of the Tree. The brilliant master Alexander Fulcanelli made a terrifying mistake, causing all magical creatures to vanish. Brew elixirs, earn points, and traverse three places of power to restore the balance of magic."
Organizational Information
Currently, the following has been completed for the project:
- A rights agreement has been signed;
- Design documentation has been developed;
- A user interface has been created;
- Screenshots and a story trailer have been prepared;
- A Steam page has been launched.
Roadmap
The project is currently at an early stage of development and is being created on Unity.
- Active development phase begins: Summer-Fall 2025.
- Planned release: Spring-Summer 2026.
- Press kit: https://disk.yandex.ru/d/mNu0XNAp9OvF1g
- Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3710120/Zelevarenie_Put_Alximika
About the Gameplay/Mechanics
The gameplay cycle is based on the mechanics of the board game. Both single-player mode (with bots) and multiplayer with friends are available.
Using cards, players need to create potions, elixirs, and magical creatures to earn movement points, navigate the global map, and progress through three places of power to earn the title "Best Alchemist."
Apart from playing one match, there's also a large story campaign consisting of several logically connected worlds, with new game entities introduced in each.
Main features of the game:
- The ability to play both with friends worldwide and solo;
- A story campaign;
- A low entry threshold with high replayability potential.
Target Audience
The game is well-suited for the whole family and is also aimed at fans of magical settings (for example, fans of "Harry Potter").
About the Business Model
- Monetization model — premium.
- Sales expectations — about 60 thousand copies.
In setting these expectations, we relied on analyzing projects of similar quality and gameplay on Steam, where we can realistically compete, as well as the sales numbers of the board game version.
About the Metrics
As of now, the game's Steam page is live, and marketing is done by the team. Detailed metrics on traffic sources, wishlist numbers, and other details are provided upon request.
Who Are We Looking For?
Currently, we are ready to handle the funding of development independently, but we need a publisher to ensure strong marketing support for the game from the start of development.
Detailed information about our plans can be found in the pitch.
