In a statement to the media, a Microsoft spokesperson said that Spencer does not plan to leave the company at least “in the near future.”
Spencer joined Microsoft in 1988 as an intern. Fifteen years later, he became the head of Microsoft Studios, and in 2014, he took over the entire gaming division. Under his leadership, Xbox released the Xbox Series consoles and acquired several gaming companies, including ZeniMax Media and Activision Blizzard.
