Gears of War: Reloaded will not be launching on the PS5 in Japan; however, it will be available on Xbox and PC platforms

Gears of War: Reloaded, although cleared for the Xbox Series and PC, is not slated for release on the PS5 in Japan.
In a report by IGN, Microsoft announced the game, set to launch on August 26, won't arrive on the PS5 due to "regional rating restrictions" and "platform policies."
Microsoft's statement, provided via a machine translation here, states, "Due to regional rating restrictions and platform policies, Gears of War: Reloaded will not be released for PlayStation 5 in Japan."
Players within Japan can still access the game on release day through platforms like Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Game Pass, and Steam. Microsoft conveyed apologies for any inconvenience to Japanese gamers anticipating its launch.
While nothing is confirmed, it is speculated that the game's rejection on PS5 might relate to its depiction of slicing enemies, a feature previously raising issues with Japan's CERO, which has blocked titles like The Callisto Protocol and the Dead Space remake for similar reasons.
Furthermore, the version of Gears of War: Reloaded listed on the Microsoft Store lacks a CERO rating, though it is classified by the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC). It remains unclear whether the remake was turned down for a CERO rating.
