Dune: Awakening launched on Steam with over 93,000 concurrent players — this is the best result among Funcom games
Only a few days remain until the full release of Dune: Awakening, but since last night, owners of the premium editions can already play the MMO-survival game set in the Dune universe. Many took advantage of this. Within the first few hours of early access, the game's online presence on Steam reached 93,634 players.

Previously, no other Funcom game attracted so many simultaneous players on Steam. The previous record-holder was Conan Exiles, which peaked with 53,402 players in its Steam version.

At the time of writing, Dune: Awakening has a "mostly positive" rating on Steam. The game has 2,400 reviews, of which 78% are positive. According to the Steam Scout service, the top three languages for reviews are English (66.4%), Russian (9.7%), and Chinese (6%).
Dune: Awakening is praised mainly for its pleasing visuals and music, well-captured atmosphere of the original source, well-implemented game mechanics, and locations that are interesting to explore. At the same time, many gamers are complaining about server issues and optimization, outdated animations, and a contentious combat system.
The full release of Dune: Awakening for all players is set for June 10. Initially, the game will be available only on PC, but it will eventually also be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The exact release date for the console version is unknown.
