Elden Ring Nightreign has surpassed the entire Dark Souls series combined in terms of online players on Steam

On the night of May 30th, the release of Elden Ring Nightreign — a cooperative spin-off of Elden Ring — took place on PC and consoles. The game quickly became very popular on Steam. Within a few hours, its online user count on Valve's platform peaked at 313,593 players.

Nevertheless, not all players are satisfied with Elden Ring Nightreign. At the time of writing, the title has a "mixed" rating on Steam, with only 67% of 6,300 reviews being positive.

The game is most often criticized for its poorly implemented cooperative mode, cumbersome controls, repetitiveness, and poor balance. Many are also dissatisfied with the optimization. The game's accelerated pace and the introduction of new, interesting bosses are noted as positives.

Currently, two-thirds of the reviews for the Steam version of Elden Ring Nightreign are written in English. Following this are reviews in Simplified Chinese (9.7%) and Russian (4.7%).

Earlier, analysts from Alinea Analytics calculated that Elden Ring Nightreign approached its release with 2.5 million wishlists on Steam. This made it the most anticipated game on the platform, but now that title has shifted to Hollow Knight: Silksong.
