Steam now allows users to follow developers or publishers directly while purchasing their games

Game developers and publishers can create so-called homepages on Steam — personalized showcases featuring their titles, the latest news, and other important information. To make it easier and more efficient for teams to work with such pages, Valve has released a small update.

There are three main improvements:

  • Previously, developers and publishers had to go through a series of steps to link a new game's page to their homepage, but now this can be done with the click of a few buttons. All that's needed is to select the company's homepage from the available dropdown list in the editor while creating the game's page on Steam and click 'Link';

  • The header of the developer/publisher's homepage on Steam now displays links to the companies' social media;

  • A widget has appeared on the right side of the cart, offering gamers the option to subscribe to the homepage of the team whose game they are purchasing. Subscribers will receive email notifications about new game releases.
