Six One Indie unveils new publishing label

A new publishing division has been introduced by the organizers of the Six One Indie Showcase and The Indie Game Awards.

This new venture, called Six One Indie Publishing, aims to serve as a "unified, indie-first platform" dedicated to game developers. It will provide resources for launch strategies, media outreach, and integration into showcases, as well as development support such as quality assurance testing and translation services.

"We're seeing an increase in the number of games released each day, yet the coverage and promotion opportunities seem to decrease rapidly," stated Mike Towndrow, creative director at Six One Indie.

Towndrow highlighted that Six One Indie now offers a platform that presents innovative ways to connect indie games with audiences.

He further explained: "Our goal isn't to create a traditional publishing label, but one that caters to the new era of indie gaming—prioritizing passion, relationships, and retaining creative authority."

"Indie developers need more than a standard list of tasks; they deserve significant support grounded in authenticity, sincere interest, and a novel approach suited for a volatile market."

Established in 2018, Six One Indie held its inaugural showcase in 2022.
