A guide has been released for Russian-speaking game developers on working with Steam

The co-founder of the indie studio Galactic Workshop, Dmitry Zaitsev, decided to assist developers in publishing games on Steam. He prepared a comprehensive guide based on the experiences of participants from the Telegram channel “STEAMizdat + EGS”.

The guide outlines the features of Steam that both Russian and international teams should consider. In particular, it pays significant attention to legal aspects, marketing strategies, and Steam's algorithms.

The guide consists of eight sections:

  • getting started on Steam;
  • working from Russia with Steam;
  • working from other countries with Steam;
  • marketing and promotion;
  • pricing, discounts, finances;
  • tools, useful services, communities;
  • common problems and mistakes;
  • terms from Steam and GameDev.

According to Zaitsev, the information in the guide will be regularly updated. He, along with other participants of “STEAMizdat + EGS”, plans to write new articles from time to time and remove outdated ones.
