Now, as a result of changes to the App Store rules in the U.S., developers can use third-party payments without restrictions, including Xsolla solutions

Great news for all iOS developers. Now they can earn more from the United States market.

Recently, an American court ruled that developers can direct players to make purchases directly from web stores via their apps—without restrictions or commissions.

Following this, Apple was compelled to comply with the law: it updated the operation rules of its own app store — The App Review Guidelines.

This decision was warmly welcomed by market participants, including the company Xsolla. In a comment to App2Top, Xsolla representatives shared that they had been prepared for this for a long time:

“Four years ago, we launched a solution that allows developers to create web stores and sell currency, items, and subscriptions without a commission, as well as configure flexible LiveOps mechanics.”

According to them, using such solutions significantly improves the business metrics of products.

“Case studies from our solution — aptly named Web Shop — show a double-digit increase in key metrics. For instance, retention can jump by 40%, and revenue — thanks to savings on commissions — by 25%.”

Xsolla also noted that, over time, more than half of the paying audience might transition to web stores.

“Over the past couple of years, we have launched more than 500 web shops. Among them are cases where a significant portion of players started paying exclusively through the web.”
