Hypercharge: Unboxed garnered 50,000 wishlists in the PlayStation Store in just two and a half weeks

At the end of March, the British indie studio Digital Cybercherries introduced the PlayStation version of the shooter Hypercharge: Unboxed, which features toy soldiers. The developers boasted that the announcement generated considerable interest among the audience.

According to the studio, just a week after the announcement, Hypercharge: Unboxed had 30,000 wishlists in the PlayStation Store, and two weeks and four days later, the number of wishlists surpassed 50,000.

In his LinkedIn account, Digital Cybercherries' Marketing Director Joe Henson shared that the studio currently has only five employees. The developers are self-publishing Hypercharge: Unboxed on PlayStation and have gained wishlists entirely organically.

Henson believes that Hypercharge: Unboxed managed to capture the audience's attention by tapping into feelings of nostalgia.

It is worth recalling that Hypercharge: Unboxed was released on PC back in 2017. Three years later, it appeared on the Nintendo Switch, and in 2024, it reached the Xbox. The exact release date on PlayStation is still unknown, but the game is expected to debut on Sony consoles within the year.
