In comparison, on April 16, the game's online count was 23 times lower — 6,541 people. Earlier in the month, the numbers were even smaller, with the daily online average at around 2.5 thousand players.

However, Last Epoch did not manage to break its own record. At its release in February 2024, 264,708 Steam users were playing the game simultaneously. Still, there's a possibility that Last Epoch’s online numbers may grow over the weekend.

The developers from Eleventh Hour Games stated on social media that they are "thrilled" with the excitement generated by the start of the second season. The team also mentioned that they have already released a hotfix that addressed some of the issues encountered in the game.

Interestingly, Eleventh Hour Games initially intended to launch the second season of Last Epoch on April 2, but later postponed it by two weeks. The studio was concerned about competing for players' attention with Path of Exile 2, whose creators, like them, planned to release a major update in early April. Although the Steam version of Path of Exile 2 also saw a significant online increase after the patch, the audience's reaction to the updates was mostly negative. In contrast, Last Epoch received positive feedback for its new content: within a day, the game garnered 1,160 reviews, with only 28 of them being negative.
