On April 15, Jagex released RuneScape: Dragonwilds on Steam as an early access title. This cooperative survival game is set in the universe of the iconic MMORPG RuneScape. Judging by the initial numbers, the game has had a successful launch.

According to SteamDB, RuneScape: Dragonwilds attracted 41,270 concurrent users at its peak on Steam. Consequently, the newcomer has become the second most popular game on the platform published by Jagex, surpassed only by the survival game SCUM, which had 68,322 concurrent players at its peak.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds also boasts strong ratings. Currently, it holds a "very positive" rating on Steam, with 80% of 1.7 thousand reviews being favorable. Players are mostly pleased to return to a familiar world and praise the project's beautiful visuals, although many have criticized its poor optimization and lack of content.

According to Steam Scout, the overwhelming majority of reviews for RuneScape: Dragonwilds are written in English—93.6% of them. They are followed by reviews in German (1.3%) and Brazilian Portuguese (0.9%).
