The head of the publishing department at Pocketpair considers it highly unlikely that the company will be sold
The chances of Pocketpair's CEO agreeing to sell the company are very slim, according to John Buckley, the communications director and head of publishing at Pocketpair. He shared this opinion in an interview with IGN.

“He would never, ever allow it. He enjoys doing his own thing and being his own boss. He doesn't like people telling him what to do,” said Buckley.
However, the manager does not rule out that in his old age, Takuro Mizobe might reconsider for a substantial retirement benefit.
Buckley also shared that at the GDC 2025 developers' conference, some of his interlocutors were surprised to learn that the creators of Palworld do not belong to Sony. The confusion arose from a deal made last summer. At that time, Pocketpair, alongside Sony Music Entertainment and Aniplex, launched a new company to develop the Palworld brand beyond the game — Palworld Entertainment.
It's notable that a year ago, Mizobe himself mentioned in a Bloomberg interview that he was content with Pocketpair's independent status, but he was open to considering offers for sale or partnership.
