Commandos: Origins was released on Steam to mixed reviews

On April 9, 2025, the publisher Kalypso Media and the studio Claymore Game Studios released Commandos: Origins — a new installment in the iconic series of tactical games. The project did not impress Steam users upon release.

The Steam version of Commandos: Origins was mainly criticized for technical issues. Many called the game unpolished: it's filled with numerous bugs, including critical ones leading to crashes, some broken animations, and poor optimization. There are also opinions that the resulting game is "not Commandos" and does not capture the spirit of the series.

On the positive side, players praised the expansive maps and well-implemented tactical mechanics.
