PlayStation Studios Visual Arts is a subsidiary of Sony that assists other corporate studios with game development. For example, it was involved in creating the remasters of The Last of Us.

As Kotaku writes, some laid-off employees worked on projects that Sony recently canceled. They contributed to the canceled service game by Bend Studio. The layoffs also affected other teams, though it is not specified which ones. The total number of people leaving PlayStation Studios Visual Arts due to the layoffs is also unknown.

Sony has not publicly commented on the layoffs at PlayStation Studios Visual Arts.

The last time a mass reduction of staff at PlayStation Studios Visual Arts was reported was in October 2023. The number of employees laid off at that time was not disclosed either.
