Sumo Group has sold the publisher of Still Wakes the Deep and A Little to the Left
The British company Sumo Group has parted ways with the publisher Secret Mode, which released Still Wakes the Deep, A Little to the Left, Dear Esther, and numerous other games. It sold the publisher for an undisclosed amount.

In an official statement, Secret Mode announced that the publisher was bought out by its own management with the support of investment firm Emona Capital. Incidentally, this is not the first time Emona Capital has been involved in such deals. For instance, in the spring of 2024, Emona Capital assisted the management of Relic Entertainment in buying out their studio from SEGA.
Secret Mode confirmed that it will continue to publish indie games for PC and consoles.
“Now, as an independent company, we can dedicate all of our efforts to discovering indie gems that gamers will not be able to imagine their lives without,” stated Secret Mode co-founder James Schall.
The sale of Secret Mode took place amidst the business reorganization of Sumo Group. In early February, the company announced that it would no longer create its own games and would focus on outsourcing development.
