Monster Hunter Wilds grosses over $69M on Steam in 24 hours, making it 2nd top-grossing new game of February
What were the top-grossing new games on Steam in February 2025? GameDiscoverCo has shared data on the biggest releases, including their estimated gross revenue for the period.
GameDiscoverCo founder Simon Carless posted the list on LinkedIn, saying that Kingdom Come: Deliverance II was the top new Steam release of February. Warhorse’s medieval RPG is estimated to have grossed $118.9 million on the platform since its launch on February 4.
According to GameDiscoverCo, KCD2 sold over 2 million copies on Steam alone, with another 600k+ on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Monster Hunter Wilds came 2nd, with $69.1 million in gross revenue. It is worth noting that the game only launched on February 28, meaning it took just 24 hours to hit this impressive milestone. As of March 2, Wilds has already grossed over $150 million on Steam.
Capcom hasn’t disclosed any sales figures yet, but GameDiscoverCo estimates that Monster Hunter Wilds has sold over 4 million units across PC and PlayStation 5. The game also peaked at over 1.38 million concurrent players on Steam, making it the 5th biggest release on the platform of all time by that metric.
Civilization VII grossed $66.1 million last month, driven by strong pre-orders. The game has been sitting in the top 10 highest-grossing products on Steam for a while now, and Take-Two previously noted that it set a “new franchise record for pre-orders.”
Rounding out the top 5 new titles in February by gross revenue were Avowed ($13.1 million) and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii ($7.7 million).
