RuStore: young people spend twice as much on mobile games as adults
The domestic marketplace RuStore analyzed the spending habits of Russians in mobile applications. To do this, it surveyed 1,009 people over the age of 18 across the country together with Ipsos.

Below are the findings from the study.
- Almost half of respondents had made purchases in mobile games at least once.
- The most spending audience in mobile games is users aged 18-24. About 58% of them made in-game purchases. On average, their spending amounts to 2,294 rubles per month.
- Gamers aged 25-34 spend "almost twice as" less, though the exact amount is not specified.
- The lowest spending is by gamers aged 35-44 — averaging 1,104 rubles per month.
- The study also provides a breakdown of spending by gender. It reports that women spend 1,265 rubles monthly in mobile games, while men spend 1,512 rubles.
- In-app purchases (IAP) in games and applications account for 91% of all transactions in RuStore. Subscription purchases are the second most popular at 6%. Rounding out the top three are purchases of paid games and applications at 3%.
- The size of 93% of all first purchases in RuStore is less than 1,000 rubles. Typically, these are 99 rubles and 499 rubles. However, the first purchase is often made not in games but in other applications. The average check for repeated purchases in RuStore is 200 rubles.
- Most frequently, gamers in RuStore spend money on shooters, RPGs, and strategy games.
