Kingdom Come: Deliverance II becomes top-grossing premium game on Steam ahead of its launch, Spider-Man 2 debuts in top 3

February is expected to be a really busy period for major new game releases, with pre-orders for several upcoming games sitting in the top 10 of the Steam charts. Here are the top-selling products on the platform by gross revenue for the week of January 28-February 4.

Counter-Strike remained the top-grossing game on Steam, with Kingdom Come: Deliverance II rising 16 positions to #2 overall. Warhorse’s medieval RPG, which launches on February 4, has every chance of topping the charts next week.

Other upcoming releases of February in the top 10 include Civilization VII and Monster Hunter Wilds. Firaxis’s strategy game moved up four positions to #5 overall (#3 when only looking at premium products). Capcom’s title climbed six spots to #9 (#5 among premium games).

Marvel’s Spider-Man debuted at 3rd place overall, also peaking at 28,189 concurrent players over the weekend. This is Sony’s 9th biggest launch on the platform in terms of peak CCU, behind the first Spider-Man game (66.4k CCU) but above Miles Morales (13.5k CCU). However, the game received mixed reviews (61% positive) due to technical issues and poor optimization at launch.

The Sims 4 rose 48 places to #10 overall thanks to the ongoing celebration of the franchise’s 25th anniversary and the re-release of the first two games in the series. Interestingly, The Sims 1 and 2 didn’t make it to the top 100 highest-grossing titles on Steam.

Call of Duty also saw a significant increase in weekly gross revenue, with the main app climbing 44 spots to #11 overall (#6 among premium games). This happened after the launch of the Season 2 battle pass for Black Ops 6, which entered the charts at #15.

In addition to Spider-Man 2, other notable new releases include Hello Kitty Island Adventure (#12), Sniper Elite: Resistance (#31), Foundation (#34), Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (#52). Poppy Playtime returned to the charts at #18 overall thanks to the release of the new Chapter 4.
