Neowiz has entered into an $8 million agreement with the Warsaw-based game developer, Zakazane, for the release of their upcoming neo-Western role-playing game.

According to GamesBeat, the South Korean company is set to provide financial support for the game's production, emphasizing it as a significant addition to their collection.

Seung-Cheol Kim, Neowiz's co-CEO, mentioned, "When we first met Zakazane, we felt an immediate kinship around their passion for developing projects that profoundly captivate audiences."

He continued by highlighting the game's role in their ambitions for creating enduring franchises for PCs and gaming consoles.

Zakazane's CEO, Jan Bartkowicz, commented on the collaboration, stating, "We found great understanding with Neowiz, who got excited about our debut title the minute we showed them the demo." He noted that Neowiz supported their creative vision and believed in the cultural and business significance of video games.

Zakazane was founded in 2022 by Jan Bartkowicz, along with Piotr Chomiak, Radosław Gwarek, and Marta Sobek, and consists of a team of 20 developers with experience from CD Projekt Red and 11Bit Studios.

The team previously secured $1 million through a pre-seed round led by The Games Fund to kickstart their first gaming project, as reported by VentureBeat.

In addition, last year, Neowiz injected $17 million into the Polish developer Blank Game Studios and acquired a 21% share in the company, as detailed in a report by GamesIndustry.biz.
