Dragon Age: The Veilguard ranked second in Steam sales last week. Its initial PC sales may have exceeded 350,000 copies
The list of top-grossing products in the Valve store for the week from October 29th to November 5th has been published. Let’s go through the top ten, excluding free-to-play products.
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 tops the sales chart for the second consecutive week. Unfortunately, there is no information about its online presence. The game is sold as DLC for the main Call of Duty client, which also includes the free-to-play Warzone and Modern Warfare III. This makes it futile to estimate sales based on the number of reviews, as they are "spread out." Some reviews are for the client, others for the DLC.
- In second place (third if considering the free Counter-Strike 2) is Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the main role-playing game of the fall season. During its first week of sales, the game peaked at 89,000 concurrent players. It has garnered 28,000 reviews. VG Insight estimates that around 350,000 copies of the game have been sold on Steam to date.
- Pre-orders for Monster Hunter Wilds, which is due for release next February, allowed it to enter the top three (top five including free-to-play) best-selling games on Steam last week. The game also boasts a significant following — nearly 270,000 subscribers (70,000 of them in the last seven days).
- The PC release of Red Dead Redemption performed excellently. Despite the original game being 14 years old, its remaster not only reached an online presence of 8,000 players but also secured the sixth position (tenth including free-to-play) on the chart. VG Insight estimates the initial Steam revenue of the game at $3.3 million.
- Helldivers 2 is making its way back into the top ten. With new updates and efforts by developers to connect with the audience, the game is seeing an increase in both sales and online presence. Although it’s still far from the spring peak when about half a million people played simultaneously, this weekend saw the game reaching an online count of 50,000 players.
