Poncle, the developer behind Vampire Survivor, launches a publishing division

The firm behind Vampire Survivors, Poncle, has launched a fresh publishing division.

At the Game Republic event titled Pitching to Investors and Publishers held in Liverpool, Poncle shared this development. They emphasized their intention not to acquire intellectual property and distanced themselves from the model of conventional publishing. Instead, their focus will be on operating as a label or funding source that empowers developers to create their own games.

This new division promises financial backing, along with platform assistance, localization, quality assurance, and release management, as well as strategic guidance for developers producing games characterized by sincerity, passion, and depth.

Poncle is committed to offering marketing assistance, aimed at helping independent developers launch games that are engaging, budget-friendly, and enjoyable.

During the presentation, Poncle expressed their desire to approve a wide range of projects but humorously noted their limited capacity, stating, "We're very small!"

The company also clarified its disinterest in projects resembling Survivor-style games, AI or Web3 initiatives, and free-to-play mobile games.

The game Vampire Survivors expanded its reach last year by being approved for an animated television series. This adaptation will see Poncle collaborating with Story Kitchen, a company managed by notable names including Sonic the Hedgehog film co-producer Dmitri Johnson, Derek Kolstad, the creator of John Wick, and Mike Goldberg.
