Analysts: PlayStation 5 Pro will sell 12.8 million units by 2029
Yesterday, Sony officially unveiled an enhanced version of the PlayStation 5 console — the PlayStation 5 Pro. The analytics firm Ampere Analysis has attempted to forecast its sales.
Analysts suggest that PlayStation 5 Pro will sell at roughly the same pace as the PlayStation 4 Pro. They acknowledge that the high price of the console ($699.99 and €799.99) might deter some gamers, but PlayStation enthusiasts are likely to add it to their collection anyway.
Ampere Analysis reminded us that PlayStation 4 Pro sales amounted to 14.5 million units over its little more than five-year lifespan, which is 12% of the total PlayStation 4 sales. Based on these figures, analysts predict that by 2029, 12.8 million PlayStation 5 Pro units will have been sold.

The PlayStation 5 Pro will go on sale on November 7, 2024. It will feature AI upscaling, accelerated ray tracing, a more powerful GPU, and a range of other enhancements.
