Original story, September 4, 2024: Reports have emerged that Microsoft has apologized to Jyamma Games over concerns that the developer's communications were neglected during the Xbox certification process of their game, Enotria: The Last Song.

As revealed in a Discord message accessed by GamesIndustry.biz, Jyamma Games' CEO Jacky Greco stated that Microsoft had reached out to them post the studio's announcement on Monday, which indicated a delay in the Xbox launch of their game, with no new timeline provided.

Greco elaborated that, despite having a completed version for Xbox, Microsoft had not responded to certification queries for a span of two months.

"There was significant financial investment in porting, yet Microsoft chose to overlook us," Greco mentioned. "It seems they neither considered Enotria nor its community important."

According to Eurogamer, Jyamma Games previously announced in March that Xbox would receive the game later than other platforms to ensure "an enhanced experience" for PC and PS5. However, a rescheduling from August to September altered these plans.

Jyamma is not alone; other developers have encountered hurdles releasing games on Xbox in recent times. Funcom's CPO Scott Junior disclosed to VG247 the challenges in optimizing Dune Awakening for the Xbox Series S.

Larian Studios also faced "technical issues" that delayed the Xbox release of Baldur's Gate 3 last year, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz.

Update, September 5, 2024: On social media, Jyamma Games announced that top Xbox executive Phil Spencer and his team have addressed the situation.

"We are now collaborating closely with Microsoft, aiming to release the game on Xbox soon," read the update.

Furthermore, Xbox communicated to GamesIndustry.biz that it has considered Jyamma’s input.

"We’ve engaged with Jyamma Games and received valuable feedback to enhance our processes," a company representative noted. "We're excited to work with them to make Enotria: The Last Song available on Xbox."
