A separate tab for popular free games appeared on Steam

Gaming expert Simon Carless noticed that Valve has slightly updated the Steam interface. The company added a Trending Free tab, or "Popular Free Games," on the main store page.

The new chart includes both full releases and game prologues along with demos.

According to Carless, Valve decided to add this tab in response to complaints that demos were pushing paid games out of the "Popular New Releases" chart.

At the time of writing this news, the top three spots in the popular free games chart are occupied by the benchmark Black Myth: Wukong, the demo version of Retail Company Simulator, and the demo version of Frontline Crisis.
