The online shooter Deadlock on Steam has reached nearly 17,000 players

Deadlock is a PvP shooter allegedly being developed by Valve. Although the company has not officially announced the project or initiated open testing, thousands of people are already playing Deadlock.

The service SteamDB began tracking Deadlock's online presence on Steam at the end of May. According to its data, the game's daily concurrent user count remained at 1,500-2,500 until August, when it started to increase rapidly. For example, on August 3, the Steam online count for Deadlock exceeded 3,400 people, on August 8 — 7,500 people, and on August 11 — 16,900 people.

It is believed that Deadlock is currently in the closed alpha testing phase. Online sources report that access to the shooter can be obtained by invitation from either Valve directly or other test participants.

When the game will be officially announced remains unknown.
