Path of Exile soars 43 spots on Steam charts, plus debuts from Cataclismo, Into the Radius 2, and more

Amid a drought of major releases, the same free-to-play hits continue to dominate the Steam charts. However, there were plenty of debuts in the top 100 highest-grossing titles on the platform over the past seven days.

Counter-Strike 2 and PUBG remained the highest-grossing products on Steam for the week of July 23-30. Steam Deck moved up two positions to #3, followed by The First Descendant and Dota 2. So the top 5 hasn’t changed much compared to the previous week.

Naraka: Bladepoint returned to the top 10, landing at #7 overall. This is thanks to the success of Season 13, which recently helped the game break its CCU record and reach a new all-time high of 385.7k concurrent players.

The main Call of Duty app jumped 24 positions to #8 overall (#2 when only looking at premium games). The main reason is the launch of Season 5 for Modern Warfare III, with its BlackCell battle pass landing at #17. MWIII itself climbed from #68 to #35 overall.

D3 Publisher’s third-person shooter Earth Defense Force 6 has finally launched globally two years after its Japanese release in 2022. Despite mixed reviews from players, the game rose from 27th to 11th place overall (3rd among premium titles).

Following the launch of the Settlers of Kalguur expansion, Path of Exile saw a surge in player spending. The free-to-play action RPG climbed 43 spots to #14 overall. This is further evidence of the update’s success, which helped the game peak at 350k CCU across all platforms.

Below are the top 10 premium games by gross revenue for the week of July 23-30 (excluding F2P titles and Steam Deck):

  1. Elden Ring
  2. Call of Duty
  3. Earth Defense Force 6
  4. No Man’s Sky

Looking at new titles on the Steam charts, Ironhide’s tower defense game Kingdom Rush 5 debuted at #24 overall. It received “Very Positive” reviews from players, attracting over 21k concurrent players at max.

CM Games’ VR shooter Into the Radius 2 landed at #28. It also peaked at nearly 2,000 CCU, which is a solid result for a VR-only game.

Cataclismo, a real-time strategy game with tower defense elements from Moonlighter developer Digital Sun, debuted at #34. Currently sitting at a 94% rating on Steam, the game looks like another success story for publisher Hooded Horse. The latter has helped launch several hit strategy titles in the last 12 months, including Against the Storm, Manor Lords, and Norland.

Other new games on the chart include F1 Manager 2024 (#38) and Hunter Studio’s action roguelike Lost Castle 2 (#47).
