Major sales on Steam always spark increased interest from players in time-tested hits. This was confirmed by the creators of the city-building survival game, Frostpunk.

11 bit studios announced that since the start of the summer sale, which began on June 27, they have sold over 400,000 copies of Frostpunk. That's roughly one copy every 2.3 seconds. The interest was spurred by a record 90% discount for the game.

At the end of April, the company reported 5 million copies of Frostpunk sold. Thus, the current sales of the game should be at least 5.4 million copies.

Alongside the increase in sales, Frostpunk's online presence in Steam also grew. On June 26, the survival game peaked at 2,400 concurrent players, and by June 30, that number had risen to 10,600 players. At the time of writing this news, Frostpunk's online presence in Steam stands at 5,200 players.
