Once Human launched on Steam with 82,000 concurrent players and "mixed" reviews

On July 9, NetEase's Starry Studio released the multiplayer post-apocalyptic survival game Once Human on PC. At launch, the game managed to attract a large audience.

According to data from the SteamDB service, on its debut day, Once Human's peak online presence in Steam reached 82,092 players. This made Once Human one of the largest 2024 releases on the platform, right after Chained Together (95,480 players) and Hades II (103,567 players).

However, Once Human left a mixed impression on players. At the time of writing this news, it had gathered 3,400 reviews on Steam, with only 55% being positive. Negative reviews criticize Once Human for an excessive amount of grinding, the temporary inability to create a new character, and issues with switching between servers. Additionally, many players are complaining about the privacy policy, which forces them to disclose personal data. On the positive side, users highlight the fun gameplay and interesting setting.
