An increasing number of users are opting to use controllers when playing games on Steam

Valve reports a surge in the number of gamers using controllers on the Steam platform.

According to a recent update from Valve, there has been an increase in the daily average use of controllers on Steam from 5% in 2018 to 15%. Furthermore, 42% of these gaming sessions utilize Steam Input, facilitating the use of various controller types.

Steam supports over 300 different controllers. The Xbox controller emerges as the most favored, being used in 59% of sessions, while PlayStation controllers and Steam Deck are used in 26% and 10% of sessions, respectively.

Steam has also introduced compatibility for a new wireless Hori controller. Fully integrated with both desktop and Steam Deck, this Valve-licensed device is slated for release in Japan on October 31, as detailed by GameSpot.
