An increasing number of users prefer using controllers to play games on Steam
Valve has observed a rise in the number of gamers using controllers to play on Steam.
Per a recent announcement from Valve, the daily average use of controllers surged from 5% in 2018 to 15% currently, with 42% of these instances involving Steam Input, which accommodates various controller types.
Steam offers compatibility with over 300 different controllers. According to Valve's data, the Xbox controller is favored in 59% of gaming sessions, followed by PlayStation controllers at 26%, and Steam Deck at 10%.
The platform has also introduced support for a new wireless Hori controller, licensed by Valve, which works seamlessly with both desktop and Steam Deck. This controller is scheduled for an October 31 release in Japan, as noted by GameSpot.
