A video recording appeared on Steam
Valve has introduced a new set of features in Steam. They've added tools to the beta version of the Steam client that allow users to record gameplay sessions.
The video recording can be done either in the background or on demand. The captured clips can then be edited, such as cutting necessary fragments and adding timeline markers for particularly interesting moments. Some games can automatically manage the timeline on the video, highlighting seconds with significant events like boss fights. Currently, this feature is available in Dota 2 and Counter Strike 2, but Valve has already provided other developers with the tools for working with video, so you'll soon be able to find this feature in other games as well.
Video recording is supported on Steam Deck, so owners of the portable PC can also create clips. It also works in any games where the Steam overlay is accessible.
The finished videos can be shared in Steam chats and sent to other devices.
