The Xbox Showcase 2024 will feature prominent titles such as Call of Duty, the latest Gears of War, and Doom
In an impressive Xbox Showcase today, Microsoft revealed new entries in the Doom and Gears of War series, along with the first trailer for Perfect Dark, and the launch date for the upcoming Call of Duty.
Bethesda's Doom: The Dark Ages, set to be released in 2025, was among the highlights. Additionally, Xbox Game Studios announced a prequel to the Gears of War series titled E-Day, both set to be available on Game Pass from day one.
Fans finally got a glimpse of the Perfect Dark reboot, developed by The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics, which will also be available on Game Pass at launch, although no specific release date was provided.
The release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was confirmed for October 25, 2024, though details had surfaced on the Xbox Store earlier the same day.
From Compulsion Games, a first look at South of Midnight was shown, with a release anticipated in 2025, and available on Game Pass upon release.
The showcase also featured the debut trailer for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, set for a fall 2024 release by EA and BioWare.
Playground's upcoming Fable title received a tentative 2025 release window in a new trailer, while new footage was unveiled for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle from MachineGames, and Obsidian's Avowed, both expected later this year.
Bethesda also previewed a Starfield expansion called Shattered Space, expected later this year, and announced a new Fallout 76 expansion, Skyline Valley, set to launch on June 12.
Blizzard announced an August 26 release for a new World of Warcraft expansion, The War Within, and a Diablo 4 DLC titled Vessel of Hatred, available on October 8.
The thirteenth season of Sea of Thieves is set for July 25, while Age of Mythology: Retold, a remastered strategy classic, will be released on September 4. Meanwhile, a third installment in the State of Decay franchise was unveiled by Undead Labs.
Beyond Xbox's in-house projects, Sandfall Interactive, published by Kepler Interactive, announced Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, coming in 2025, and Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn by A44 Games, scheduled for July 17, both released on Game Pass from day one.
Square Enix and Deck 9 introduced Double Exposure, a new Life is Strange murder mystery featuring Max Caulfield, set for October 29.
Lastly, Rebellion announced Atomfall, expected next year, and the long-anticipated Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl by Ukrainian studio GSC Game World, scheduled for September 5. Both will debut on Game Pass.
Microsoft also unveiled plans for three new Xbox Series models, including a digital-only Xbox Series X.
