The lawsuit against Apple over the high commission in the App Store was rejected in a Chinese court

The Shanghai Intellectual Property Court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by a man named Jin Xin against Apple in 2021. He claimed that the company abused its market position and imposed a high 30% commission on iOS app developers, which ultimately led to increased user expenses.

The court compared the commissions in the App Store with those in several Android app stores and did not find any significant differences. Furthermore, it found no evidence in the lawsuit that the App Store commission rate directly contributed to price inflation.

Jin has already stated that he intends to appeal the verdict to the Supreme People's Court of China.
