There are over 700 thousand apps in the iTunes App Store

Speaking at a presentation in San Jose yesterday, Apple CEO Tim Cook shared some interesting figures and facts about his company’s products and services.

So, according to the Apple boss, 5 million iPhone 5 smartphones were sold in the opening weekend. 

3 million iPod devices (nano and touch) have been sold. The new iOS 6 operating system has already been installed on 200 million devices.

There are over 700 thousand applications in the iTunes App Store, of which 275 thousand are for iPad (this is taking into account only universal programs). In total, over 35 billion downloads have been registered. Since the launch of the app store, developers have already been paid $ 6.5 billion dollars.
