Online Street Fighter 6 on Steam has grown 2.5 times thanks to a new fighter and a major patch
On the evening of May 22, Street Fighter 6 was close to breaking its online record on Steam. The fighting game was being played simultaneously by 70,202 users on the platform, just 371 users short of the peak result achieved right after its release.

The day before, the online presence of the Steam version of the game was significantly lower. On May 21, Street Fighter 6 managed to attract only 28,885 players simultaneously.

This surge in activity is largely due to the introduction of a new character. Capcom added the iconic character Akuma to Street Fighter 6, the younger brother of Ken and Ryu’s master. In addition, the company released a patch with numerous improvements and balance fixes.
Furthermore, from Capcom's recent list of "platinum" games, it has been revealed that by March 31, 2024, the total sales of Street Fighter 6 grew to 3.3 million copies. Let's recall that besides PC, the fighting game is available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
