Gray Zone Warfare was the highest-grossing game on Steam for the week of April 30-May 7. Despite mixed reviews from players, the new Tarkov-like extraction shooter from Czech developer and publisher Madfinger Games has already sold 700k copies in its first week, also peaking at 72.5k concurrent players.

The game managed to dethrone Counter-Strike 2, also surpassing other premium and free-to-play hits such as Apex Legends, Helldivers 2, and PUBG in terms of weekly gross revenue.

Manor Lords became the 2nd highest-grossing premium game last week, continuing its victory lap following a successful Early Access launch.

The biggest surprise on the chart is definitely Total War: Warhammer III, which returned to the bestseller list and jumped straight to 4th place. Such an impressive comeback was due to the three-part paid DLC Thrones of Decay launched on April 30 (each pack also landed in the top 20). The expansions received positive reviews from players, and the base game’s ratings also continues to improve.

Looking at other titles on the chart, Abiotic Factor debuted at #18 overall just a few days after launching on May. Developed by Deep Field Games and published by Playstack (Balatro, Mortal Shell), the new online survival game received “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews from players and peaked at 16k CCU.

Smite 2, expected to launch on July 30, has already hit the charts thanks to pre-orders, climbing 28 places to #21 overall. And Hades returned to the list at #25 thanks to a 66% discount timed to coincide with the Early Access launch of the sequel.
