Dragon's Dogma 2 has a negative rating on Steam: it is scolded for microtransactions and the inability to start a new game
On the night of March 22, Capcom released Dragon's Dogma 2 on Steam and consoles. The game instantly garnered thousands of angry reviews.

In the first five hours after the release of Dragon's Dogma 2, Steam users left about three thousand comments, only 34% of which were positive. As a result, the game has a "mostly negative" rating. Now the situation has improved slightly, and by the time the news was written, the share of laudatory reviews had increased to 40%.
There are two main reasons for discontent — poor optimization and the presence of microtransactions.
In particular, players complain about constant FPS drawdowns, problems with texture loading, crashes and much more. Moreover, even owners of powerful video cards like the RTX 4090 face technical problems.
As for microtransactions, users are very unhappy that they even exist in a game that sells for $70. For example, one of the paid DLC allows you to change the appearance of a character and costs $ 2. Players are also offered to buy stones for resurrection, crystals for quick movement and keys to escape from the dungeon. The full set of paid DLC costs $41.79. However, all items from the kit can be found for free during the passage, but it will take time.
The situation is aggravated by the fact that in Dragon's Dogma 2 it is impossible to start the game again.
It is noteworthy that, according to SteamDB, microtransactions appeared in Dragon's Dogma 2 shortly before the release. Therefore, the gaming press most likely did not see them in the copies of the game sent by Capcom. The rating of Dragon's Dogma 2 on Metacritic is very high — 86-90 points out of 100, depending on the platform.
Despite the negative feedback from players, Dragon's Dogma 2 has an excellent online experience on Steam. At its peak, there were 184,724 people in the project at the same time. This is the fifth result in the history of Capcom games.
