PUBG Mobile publisher in Russia fined 1 million rubles
The Tagansky court of Moscow imposed a fine of 1 million rubles on the Singaporean company Proxima Beta, the "daughter" of Tencent. She did not localize the personal data of Russian PUBG Mobile players.
Recall that according to the law "On personal data" companies must store all user data from Russia only on the territory of the country. Proxima Beta is having problems with this.
In court, representatives of Proxima Beta pleaded guilty. They noted that the company complied with the requirements of the law, but at the end of September it lost the opportunity to transfer money from Singapore for data localization services. Now the problem has been solved: since November 1, Proxima Beta has been working with data through a Russian company.
Representatives of Proxima Beta asked to cancel the fine, instead issuing a warning.
Earlier it became known that Roskomnadzor added Proxima Beta and the PUBG Mobile game to the register of information dissemination organizers. Now the company is also required to store data on the actions of PUBG Mobile users from Russia and the history of their chats. If the FSB or other authorized government agencies need this information, the company will have to share it.
