PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan to step down after 30 years at the company
Jim Ryan, who heads Sony's gaming division, has decided to leave the company. His last working day will be March 31, 2024.
From April 1, 2024, Hiroki Totoki, who currently holds the post of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Sony Group Corporation, will be the interim CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment. Starting in October 2023, Totoki will also serve as chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Ryan explained that over the years it has become increasingly difficult for him to combine life in Europe and work in North America. He thanked everyone involved and stated that the PlayStation will always be a part of his life.
Ryan has worked at Sony for almost 30 years: he joined the company in 1994, and became head of the gaming division in 2019.
