The publisher of the Duke Nukem 1+2 remaster for the Evercade console apologized for the generated AI art
The recent announcement of Duke Nukem 1+2 Remastered for the Evercade portable console caused discontent among players. They noticed that the images in the advertisement were created by neural networks, and criticized the publisher of the remaster for disrespecting the project. Blaze Entertainment has already apologized for the incident.
Blaze Entertainment did not say whether it consciously used generated art in the remaster’s advertising. But she said that she would get rid of the controversial works and hire another artist who would draw new art.
It should be noted that the previous artist Oskar Manuel calls himself a professional hybrid concept artist, and his portfolio on ArtStation, as indicated in the network, partially consists of images created by neural networks. However, there is no tag about AI in his works.
